The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT (Internet Based Testing) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand the language by incorporating an integrated-skills approach to simulate real-life academic environments. The TOEFL iBT test measures four skills and combines them in integrated tasks: listening, reading, writing and speaking. It focuses on how well one uses English, and not just what one knows about it, therefore, resulting in a better measure of the ability to participate successfully in an academic environment.
