About the Partnership

The University of Lisboa Faculty of Sciences (FCUL) takes part in the CMU-Portugal partnership signed in October 2006, between Carnegie Mellon University and the Portuguese Government, through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, to engage in a long-term collaboration in the area of information and communication technologies.

FCUL has a leading role in one of the initiatives of the program, Information and Infrastructure Security and Dependability, through faculty from the Department of Informatics, and researchers from Lasige, the Large-Scale Informatics Systems Laboratory.

The program is open to students and researchers from all over the world and from Europe and Portugal in particular, to enjoy the experience of transatlantic research and graduate education leading to dual CMU/FCUL Master (MSc) or Doctoral (PhD) degrees in the state-of-the-art areas of computer and network security and dependability.
